Personal Accident Insurance
The University purchases Personal Accident Insurance for all current students every year in order to provide basic insurance coverage for our students in case of accidents.
According to the policy, students should REPORT and submit full particulars of an accident / injury to the Student Resources Section within 30 days after any accident / injury happens in order to be eligible for claiming reimbursement.
The University has purchased Travel Insurance for participants of activities that are organised / supervised by the University or UM student organisations.
According to the policy, students should REPORT and submit full particulars of an incident to the Student Resources Section within 30 days after return to Macao in order to be eligible for claiming reimbursement.
In order to provide students with better coverage of medical expenses, UM medical insurance is mandatory for all registered students, except those are approved for exemption. The insurance scheme period starts from the registration day to 31 July 2020. The insurance premium is MOP120 for academic year 2019/2020.
The coverage of the UM-contracted Medical Insurance includes out-patient service (5 times per year with a maximum of MOP200 for each claim) and in-patient service.
Out-patient service includes service provided by the Medical Centre of University of Macau and designated Medical Service Providers as below only.

Applications for reimbursement should be sent in within 70 days after medical consultations or treatments(from the date indicated on the documents issued by the Medical Service Providers). Student should submit the following documents to the Student Resources Section:
- Claim Form (provided by the insurance company);
- Original Medical Certificate and Original Receipts issued by the Medical Service Providers.
All matters regarding the reimbursement will be subject to the final decision of the Insurance Company.
